As we close out the year, we look back with gratitude on the vibrant moments we shared at the Korean Cultural Centre in Australia. From our inspiring KOFFIA to the flavourful journey of exploring Korean temple cuisine, each program brought our community a little closer. Our K-pop Dance classes also filled the centre with energy, creativity, and unforgettable memories. Thank you for being part of this wonderful year—we look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 with even more to share. National Museum of Australia Hallyu! The Korean Wave 12 Dec – 10 May ![]() Step into the world of Hallyu! The Korean Wave, an exhibition from the National Museum of Australia, Canberra, celebrating one of the most dynamic cultural movements of our time. From K-pop and K-drama to fashion and beauty, discover how South Korea’s creativity has captured imaginations across the globe. Explore more than 200 objects including glittering K-pop idol costumes, film props, interactive dance displays and stories of fandoms that reveal how a local cultural movement grew into a worldwide phenomenon. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the Korean wave, this exhibition invites you to experience the history, energy, innovation and influence of Hallyu. |
Exhibition l 21 NOV – 16 JAN KAAF ART PRIZE 2024 ![]() The Korea-Australia Arts Foundation (KAAF) Art Prize is an annual competition that aims to promote cultural diversity in Australia by bringing together artists from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The Korean Cultural Centre (KCCAU) is the venue partner, hosting the exhibition of the finalists’ artworks. Award Winners and Finalists is announced HERE. ONLINE 2025 Korean Immersion Day ![]() KCCAU successfully held the 2025 Korean Immersion Day event on 27 August, targeting high school students from across Sydney. The event was designed to provide students who formally study Korean at their school with an opportunity to engage more deeply with the Korean language and culture. We sincerely thank all participating schools for being a part of this meaningful program. Check it out now! In Case You Missed It A Taste of Korean Temple Food ![]() Ven, Donghwa joined all the way from Korea and led the program and received enthusiastic responses from the audience. Through a heartfelt lecture, a live cooking demonstration and tasting, participants experienced not only the flavours but also the wisdom of this centuries-old tradition of temple food. Special temple food Zucchini Dumplings from Myogyeonam were introduced to all participants. ONLINE K-Culture in Canberra ![]() The K-Culture in Canberra festival was held on 19–20 September, featuring Korean literature, music, and K-pop. The event included a Korean literature showcase, a book club with author Kim Geum-hee and translator Claire Richard, and a special talk with Kate Evans, co-host of ABC Radio National’s weekly review program. A K-pop dance workshop led by choreographer KINKY also drew strong interest from Canberra community. Check it out now! |
