대한민국, 인도네시아와 ‘포괄적 경제 동반자 협정 (CEPA)’에 정식 서명
대한민국은 12월 18일(현지시간) 인도네시아와 ‘포괄적 경제 동반자 협정(CEPA)’에 정식 서명했다.
청와대는 18일 “오늘 우리의 오랜 친구 인도네시아와 ‘포괄적 경제 동반자 협정(CEPA)’에 정식 서명했습니다. 이로써 정부 출범 직후 신남방국가 중 유일하게 ‘특별 전략적 동반자 관계’를 맺은 인도네시아와 더욱 가깝고 특별한 친구가 되었습니다.”라고 밝히며 문재인 대통령의 SNS 메시지를 전했다.

이로써 정부 출범 직후 신남방국가 중 유일하게 ‘특별 전략적 동반자 관계’를 맺은 인도네시아와 더욱 가깝고 특별한 친구가 되었습니다.
우리 정부 출범 후 처음으로 한국을 국빈 초청한 나라가 인도네시아였습니다. 우리의 답례 초청에 응해 2018년 한국을 방문해주신 조코위 대통령의 결단으로 4년간 중단되었던 CEPA 협상이 재개될 수 있었습니다.
한국에 변함없는 우정과 신뢰를 보내준 조코위 대통령과 인도네시아 국민들께 감사의 마음을 전합니다.
CEPA 타결로 인도네시아와 한국은 RCEP, 한-아세안 FTA보다 더 높은 수준으로 시장을 개방하게 됐습니다. 경제장벽이 낮아져 양국 기업이 상대국에 투자할 수 있는 여건이 좋아졌고, 온라인게임·유통·건설서비스 관련 우리 기업들은 2억 7천만 인구를 가진 인도네시아 내수 시장에 진출할 기회가 확대됐습니다.
인도네시아 방문 당시, 갑작스러운 비에 조코위 대통령과 서로 우산을 받쳐주며 가하루 나무를 심은 기억이 생생합니다.
양국은 CEPA라는 우산을 함께 쓰고, 상생과 협력의 나무를 키워낼 것입니다.
Today, we officially signed ‘Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement’ with Indonesia, our longtime friend. Among New Southern Policy countries, Indonesia is the only country Korea forged ‘Special Strategic Partnership’ with, right after I took office, and with CEPA, we became even closer and more special friends.
After the inauguration of my government, Indonesia was the first among foreign countries to invite Korea on a state visit. Thanks to the determination of President Joko Widodo, who made a return visit to Korea in 2018 upon our invitation, we were able to resume negotiations for CEPA, which had been stalled for four years. I express my gratitude to President Joko Widodo and the people of Indonesia for extending unwavering friendship and trust to Korea.
With CEPA, Indonesia and Korea came to open markets to a greater extent than when we signed RCEP and Korea-ASEAN FTA. Thanks to reduced tariff barriers, companies in both countries will now benefit from more favorable investment conditions, and those in online game, retail, and construction service sectors earned greater opportunities to make inroads into Indonesia’s domestic market of 270 million people.
I still have vivid memories of visiting Indonesia and planting Pohon Gaharu together with President Joko Widodo, holding umbrellas for each other under a sudden rain shower. Now under the umbrella of ‘CEPA’, our two countries will grow a tree of co-prosperity and cooperation.
