As we welcome the Year of the Blue Snake (을사년), the Korean Cultural Centre Australia wishes you and your loved ones a year filled with happiness, health, and prosperity. Parramatta City Council l 31 January and 1 February Celebrating the Lunar New Year with Korean workshops In collaboration with the 2025 Lunar New Year Festival hosted by Parramatta City Council, we are thrilled to present a series of engaging Korean culture workshops. Join us for storytelling sessions of Rajah Street and a unique hands-on workshop, “Make a Korean Transitional Suncatcher in Munsal,” led by Myo Yim, a talented Korean children’s book author-illustrator. Adding to the excitement, Sydney-based K-Pop cover dance group Sirius will host an energetic K-Pop dance workshop, followed by a lively K-Pop Random Dance Play session. KCC l SAT 1 February 11 AM – 1 PM Lunar New Year kids workshop Kick-start your Lunar New Year with a relationship workshop hosted by children’s book artist Myo Yim, as part of the exhibition ‘Lisa Myeong-Joo: The Red Chair in your picture does not exist’. Inspired by Lisa Myeong-Joo’s work, attendees will participate in a hands-on workshop using various materials. This 2-hour workshop will guide participants in creating individual art pieces using red tones, and they will learn how to combine these pieces into a single work of art through patchwork. The image they create will merge with others to tell a new story. Participants will be offered Korean traditional rice cake(Tteok), along with a selection of lollies.
