주호주대사관, 국경일 리셉션에 “Taste of Korea(전통주 및 전통음식 체험)” 및 “한-호 관계 사진전” 행사 개최
이백순 대사, 신임 외교장관 마리 스페인과 간담회
2018년 9월 25일(화) 주호주대사관(이백순 대사)은 국경일 리셉션에 참가한 호주 정관계 인사, 외교단, 우리 동포 대상으로 “Taste of Korea(전통주 및 전통음식 체험 행사)” 및 “한-호 관계 사진전”을 개최하였다. “Taste of Korea” 코너에서는 유명한 대중적인 한국의 전통주를 소개하였다. 그리고 산적, 모듬전, 두부김치 등 전통음식을 대접하였다. 이 코너를 체험한 호주 인사들은 특히 남북정상회담에 사용됐던 전통주에 관심을 보였다. “한-호 관계 사진전” 코너에는 약 130여 년에 이르는 한국과 호주의 교류사를 잘 보여주는 13점의 사진이 전시되었다. 호주 참전용사와 한국인의 교류, 한국에 최초로 방문한 데이비스 남매 등 사진을 통해 한국과 호주의 오랜 우정을 확인할 수 있었다.
한편 마리 스페인 신임 외교장관은 동북아 서남아 대사 그룹을 초청하여 간담회를 가졌다. 이백순 대사는 신임 외교장관과 한반도 문제와 양국 관계에 대해 의견 교환을 하는 기회를 가졌다.

[Taste of Korea]
On the occasion of the National Day reception of the Republic of Korea on Tuesday 25 September 2018, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Australia organized ‘Taste of Korea’ event and a photo exhibition on Korea-Australia relations.
‘Taste of Korea’ introduced a variety of Korean traditional liquor including not only famous ‘Soju’ and ‘Makgeolli’, but also ‘Munbaeju’ and ‘Myeongcheon dugyeonju’, ‘Bokbunjaju’ and ‘Maehwasu’. Korean traditional food like sanjeok, modumjeon and tofukimchi were also served together with the beverages. Australian officials showed their particular interest in ‘Munbaeju’ and ‘Myeongcheon dugyeonju’ which were the drinks served at the 2018 inter-Korean summit dinner.
At the photo exhibition on Korea-Australia relations, around 13 photos representing 130 years of the history of Korea-Australia relations were displayed. The photo exhibition showing the photos of Australian soldiers at the Korean War and Davies’ mission trip to Korea reaffirmed the long friendship between Korea and Australia.
Senator the Hon Marise Payne, a newly-appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Australia invited heads of missions from Northeast-Asia and South-western Asia to a meeting. At the meeting, Ambassador LEE Baeksoon exchanged opinions with Minister Payne on the Korean peninsula issue and on the bilateral relations between Korea and Australia.
