한–호주 외교·국방(2+2) 장관회의 개최
외교·안보 분야에서 전략적 협력 강화 및 역내 공동이슈 대응 공조
지난 12월 10일(화) 강경화 외교장관과 정경두 국방장관은 호주 시드니에서 마리스 페인(Marise Payne) 외교장관, 린다 레이놀즈(Linda Reynolds) 국방장관과 ‘제4차 한-호주 외교·국방(2+2) 장관회의’를 개최하였다.
양국 외교장관 및 국방장관은 이번 2+2 장관회의에 앞서, 시드니 무어파크(Moore Park)에 소재한 한국전 참전기념비를 찾아 헌화하고, 한국전에서 전사한 호주 군인들의 숭고한 희생에 대해 경의와 감사의 뜻을 표하였다.
이번 회의 계기에 양측은 공동성명을 채택하고, 외교·안보, 국방, 한반도 문제 등 폭넓은 분야에 걸쳐 협력을 더욱 강화해 나가자는 의지를 표명하였다.

The 4th Korea-Australia Foreign and Defence Ministers’ 2+2 Meeting
Republic of Korea Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kang Kyung-wha and Minister of National Defense, Jeong Kyeong-doo with Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne and Minister for Defence, Linda Reynolds held the 4th Korea-Australia Foreign and Defence Ministers’ 2+2 Meeting in Sydney, Australia.
Foreign and defence ministers visited the Korean War Memorial located in Moore Park, Sydney and took part in wreathlaying. They also expressed gratitude to the Australian soldiers who died in the Korean War for their sacrifice. The two sides expressed their shared intent to increase mutual cooperation on diplomacy, security, defence, permanent peace and stability on Korean peninsula, etc. and issued a joint statement.
