호주원주민 대변할 헌법기구 ‘보이스 (VOICE)’ 설립 국민투표는 10월 14일 (사전투표나 우편투표 가능)
앨버니지 총리 “호주를 하나로 묶을 수 있는, 일생에 한 번뿐인 기회 갖게 될 것”
호주의 앤서니 앨버니지 연방총리는 지난 8월 30일 (현지시간) 기자회견에서 “10월 14일, 원주민을 대변할 헌법 기구 ‘보이스’ (VOICE, 원주민 목소리) 설립과 관련해 개헌 국민투표를 실시한다”며 “호주인들은 호주를 하나로 묶을 수 있는, 일생에 한 번뿐인 기회를 갖게 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
원주민 지위 향상은 지난해 집권한 앨버니지 총리의 공약이다.
여행 등으로 당일 (10월 14일) 투표가 불가능한 경우 사전투표나 우편 투표로 참여할 수 있다.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice
On Saturday, 14 October 2023, Australians will have their say in a referendum about whether to change the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing a body called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
Voters will be asked to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on a single question. The question on the ballot paper will be:
“A Proposed Law: to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
Do you approve this proposed alteration?”
