2025년 호주 연방 예산안 발표 … 가계 부담 경감 등 다양한 정책 공개
호주 정부는 25일(화) 연방 예산을 발표하며 가계 부담 경감, 의료 서비스 확대, 인프라 개선, 주택 구매 지원 및 교육 투자 등을 포함한 다양한 정책을 공개했다.
가계 부담 경감을 위해 올해 말까지 전기요금 150달러를 추가 지원하고 2026-27 회계연도에 최대 268달러, 2027-28 회계연도에 최대 536달러의 세금이 감면된다. 의료 서비스 분야에서는 벌크 빌링 인센티브 확대에 4년간 85억 달러, 공립 병원에 18억 달러 추가 지원, 의약품 가격 기존 31.60달러에서 25달러 인하, 전국적으로 50개 신규 메디케어 긴급 진료소가 개설된다.
또한 2026년 1월부터 가계 수입이나 근로 시간에 상관없이 최소 주당 3일의 보조금을 받는 보육 지원(Three-Day Guarantee)이 제공되고 공립학교에 향후 4년간 4억 570만 달러가 추가 지원된다. 주택 구매 지원 확대를 위해 8억 달러가 투입되어 더 높은 소득층과 고가 주택도 지원 대상에 포함된다.
인프라 부문에서는 QLD주 브루스 고속도로(Bruce Highway) 업그레이드에 72억 달러, 멜버른 공항 철도(Melbourne Airport Rail) 업그레이드에 20억 달러, NBN(National Broadband Network) 확장에 30억 달러가 투입된다. 사이클론 알프레드(Cyclone Alfred) 피해 복구 지원에 12억 달러를 배정하고, HECS(Higher Education Contribution Scheme) 및 HELP(Higher Education Loan Program) 학자금 대출을 20% 감면하기로 했다.
한편, 재무부 장관 짐 차머스(Jim Chalmers)는 컨설팅 비용 절감 및 지출 재조정을 통해 20억 달러의 예산을 절감했다고 밝혔다.
