○ 생애 및 활동
1904년 4월 27일, 이탈리아 로마에서 도서관 사서 주제페 가브리엘리의 아들로 태어난 그는 아버지로부터 아랍어를 익혔고 로마 대학교에 진학했다.
1928년부터 1935년까지 Gabrieli는 Enciclopedia Italiana의 편집자로 일했다.
1935년부터 1938년까지 그는 나폴리 동부 대학에서 가르쳤다.
1938년 로마 대학교의 아랍어과 교수가 되었고 1979년 은퇴할 때까지 그곳에서 머물렀다.
그는 아랍어 연구에 집중했으며 1996년 12월 13일, 로마에서 별세했다.
