이태우 총영사, 시드니시 음력설축제 개막행사 참석
주시드니한국문화원, 문화원에서 2월 2~3일 ‘전통 한복 헤어 메이크업 워크숍’ 진행
이태우 총영사 (주시드니총영사관)는 2023년 1월 21일 (토) 타운홀에서 개최된 시드니시 음력설축제 개막행사에 참석했다.
이 자리에서 이태우 총영사는 시드니시 Clover Moore 시장에게 한국 커뮤니티를 포함, 음력설을 축하하는 동남아시아계 다문화 민족을 위해 음력설축제 행사를 개최한 것에 대해 사의를 표하며, 시드니시가 한국 동포사회에 지속적으로 관심을 갖고 지원 해 줄 것을 당부했다.
시드니시는 음력설 축하 행사의 일환으로 교포 예술가인 이연희 씨의 옥토끼 그림 배너를 센트럴역 앞 Eddy Avenue에 설치하는 한편, 전통 한옥 대문 모형(Korean Gateway)을 4~6 Cambell Street에 전시하고 있다.
또한 주시드니한국문화원(이하 문화원)은 음력설을 맞아 주시드니한국문화원에서 2월 2일과 3일 양일간 전통 한복 헤어 메이크업 워크숍을 진행한다. 문화원은 1월 20일과 21일에 음력설 맞이 한국 술체험 워크숍을 개최한 바 있다.

K-BEAUTY WORKSHOP (KOREAN LUNAR NEW YEAR’S SPECIAL: TRADITIONAL HANBOK HAIR & MAKEUP WORKSHOP)

To celebrate Korean Lunar New Year’s ‘Seollal’, KCC will hold a K-Beauty Workshop where you can try wearing Hanbok (Korean traditional outfit), try out traditional style makeup and hair as well as enjoying Korean traditional snacks at our Hanok (Korean traditional house). This event is a part of City of Sydney’s, Sydney Lunar Festival.
If you are interested in K-Beauty and have always dreamed of becoming a princess in a sageuk (Korean historical drama), you have the chance to do so at KCC!

– The Hanbok’s come in all sizes
– Please bring all of your makeup, it will be better if you come bare face so that you can follow the makeup tutorial from the start!
– Each time slot goes up to 1.5 hours and up to 20 people

Miranda Day
Born and raised in countryside Western Australia Miranda Day created MiranDay designs out of her passion for Traditional Korean clothing – the Hanbok.
After learning of the Hanbok during her studies of Costume Design at Swinburne University in 2011, Miranda went on to study Korean Language and Culture at Monash University in 2013. As part of her studies Miranda moved to Seoul in 2019 and undertook further language and cultural courses at Yonsei University. During her years of study MiranDay Designs was born and she now creates unique handmade garments for purchase and hire in Melbourne, Australia. MiranDay Designs works to promote Hanbok here in Australia and around the world. By raising awareness of the traditional clothing she hopes both younger and older generation will become interested in Korean culture and textiles. Each Hanbok designed and made by MiranDay is a unique creation using a range of limited one-of-a-kind fabrics from all around the globe. Designed to make each wearer feel special and beautiful. MiranDay Hanboks truly are the creation of her love of Hanbok.

Mikyoung Ann
Mikyoung Ann is a makeup designer and hair stylist who has been working in the Korean Beauty Field since 2003. In Korea she worked in Cheongdam, Gangnam with actors (Park Bogum, Choi Si-Won, Lee Hyun-woo, Cha Tae-hyun and more), K-pop Idols (Super Junior, Eunha Lee, and more), models (Song Hae-na, Yeo Yeon-hee, Lee Hyeon-jeong, Baekhyun and more), magazines (Wedding 21, My Wedding, Elle, Ceci, First Look and more), advertisements (Samsung Card, Dunkin Donuts, Hi-Mart, BBG Chicken) dramas (High kick through the roof, Oh! My Lady, Wonderful Mama and more), and also for bridal and weddings.
