March 7 @ Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park, Sydney

Marking the 70th anniversary of the Korean War this year, the first featured read of our inaugural Korean Book Club is Passage to Pusan which tells the true story of Australian matriarch Thelma Healy and her brave 15,000km solo journey to war-torn South Korea in 1961 to find the grave of her solider son Vince, who died fighting in the Korean War a decade earlier.
Being held at the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park, Sydney on March 7 from 11am-2pm, the event will feature author/journalist Louise Evans in conversation with the Memorial’s Senior Historian and Curator, Brad Manera.
The quarterly Korean Book Club is FREE and open to anyone interested in Korea and Korean literature, so don’t miss out on this unique chance that will provide a valuable insight into Korean history, culture and literature coming up NEXT SATURDAY! Supported by the Korean Cultural Centre AU this year, Voces Caelestium’s Charity Concert will be fundraising for the restoration of the wildlife impacted by the Australian bush fires. The March 2 concert will feature a captivating keyboard concerto by Bach, followed by Michael Haydn’s dramatic C minor Requiem and an Opera Gala. All profits will be donated to WWF Australia.
