Face of Beauty International Australia 2015, Julijana Nikolis
After an intense week of competitions with other 24 national finalists from around Australia aged 16-24 to start the competition, then it was close to the date of the competition, lots of contestants dropped out coz cannot follow the requirements and restriction and gave up, Julijana Nikolis a 16 year old school girl from Sydney, has won the national title for Face of Beauty International Australia. She showed great participation, sportsmanship, courage, confidence, and self belief in everything she did. Julijana Nikolis will be representing Australia internationally in Taiwan in October, where she will compete for the world title of Face of Beauty International with another 50+ girls from around the world, aged 16-24.
Face of Beauty International is a pageant that focuses on more than just a pretty face. It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and most importantly, a beautiful soul. Beauty to Julijana means to be the best version of yourself. This is what attracted her to enter this pageant competition, as Face of Beauty International aims to empower contestants to find beauty within themselves and to become that beauty. Through this pageant young ladies can gain greater confidence in themselves through sharing their knowledge, experience, and developed skills with peers from around the world who may struggle to find their beauty and potential within themselves. Julijana believes that such positive encouragement and support from our peers and family is needed in our society and that all young women are perfect and beautifully unique in their own way. Humbled about her win, Julijana says although she’s young, she has learnt the importance of compassion and determination. Two traits she employs in daily life. She has realized from a very young age the importance of giving back to the community through charity work. She has helped raise money for many charities including the Ronald McDonald House at Westmead Hospital, Make a Wish foundation, Wildlife Warriors, Cancer Council, White Ribbon and the Variety Charity, as well as volunteering in the Soup Kitchen in Newtown and distributing food to the homeless with the Hands and Feet organization in Sydney. For the past 2 years, this 16 year old school girl has also been an active member of the Australian Air-Force cadets. Julijana has a profound love for acting and her dream is to one day become a professional actor and in turn, a human rights ambassador. She currently studies in the young actors program at NIDA and one step closer to achieving her dreams.
Face of Beauty International World final competition in Taiwan from 4-19 October and will involve another 2 weeks of intensive competition. Julijana will represent Australia at this international pageant and use the experience to inspire other young women to find their own beauty/confidence to help them strive for the best in their lives. She will do her best to be and stay what she is, a humbled young girl and great role model. She hopes to make both Australia and her Serbian community proud!!!
