KCC Exhibition l 26 JUL – 27 SEP Maedeup, Korean Knots The Korean Cultural Centre Australia, in collaboration with the National Folk Museum of Korea, proudly presents a special exhibition: Maedeup, Korean knots. At the heart of this exhibition lies Maedeup, a stunning representation of Korea’s rich cultural history. From the delicate beauty of traditional hanbok accessories to intricate ceremonial adornments, each knot tells a story of cultural evolution, tracing its journey from humble, practical fastenings to revered art forms. Visitors will explore the intricate techniques of master artisans, from the fundamental elements of knot construction to the symbolic meanings woven into each design. KCC l 13th Sep, 18:00 – 20:00 Hangeul Stamp Engraving Workshop The Korean Cultural Centre AU is presenting “Handmade Stamp Engraving” workshop! This workshop includes a lecture on the history of Hangeul and a hands-on session where participants can create their own Korean name stamp. All materials will be provided. Find out more. 31 AUG – 12 OCT 2024 KOFFIA Touring Program To introduce the finest Korean films to local residents across Australia, the Korean Film Festival in Australia (KOFFIA) is launching its first-ever touring program this year. We are excited to bring KOFFIA 2024 to Canberra, Alice Springs, Benalla, and Burnside. This year, we are bringing four films from the 2024 KOFFIA full line-up and offering free screenings for local residents in these areas. Art Gallery of NSW l 31 AUG – SEP 2025 Lee Ufan: Quiet Resonance The Art gallery of New South Wales is presenting a new solo exhibition of by internationally renowned Korean artist Lee Ufan. The exhibition comprises eight entirely new works, including four paintings in saturated colours created between 2022 to 2024, and four new sculptures that are a continuation of the Relatum series. This exhibition is presented in the Asian Lantern galleries in Naala Nura, the Art Gallery’s original building, from 31 August 2024 to September 2025. Entry is free. Find out more. |
