Republic of Korea Navy Cruise Training Task Group Visits Sydney, Australia on the 3rd!
600 sailors including 130 midshipmen aboard two naval vessels (ROKS Chung Mu Gong Yi Sun SHin, ROKS Cheon Ji) visits Australia on 3-6 November.
During its visit, the Cruise Training Task Group seeks to promote friendship through various military diplomatic activities such as courtesy visits to distinguished guests, appreciation ceremony for Korean War veterans, on-board receptions, public ship tours, cultural performances and cultural tours.
The 2016 Republic of Korea Navy Cruise Training Task Group(ROKN CTTG), commanded by Rear Admiral Lee, Sang-Hoon, will visit Australia from the 3rd to the 6th of November. This visit marks the 16th visit to Australia and the 13th visit to Sydney by the ROKN CTTG.
The ROK Navy Cruise Training Task Group, comprised of two naval vessels ROKS Chung Mu Gong Yi Sun Shin(DDH-II, 4,400 tons) and ROKS Cheon Ji (AOE, 4,200 tons), along with 600 sailors including 130 midshipmen of the 71st class of the Republic of Korea Naval Academy, will visit 13 ports in 12 nations, including Australia and Papua New Guinea during its 107-day cruise.

– Visiting nations : Japan, Russia, United States (Guam, Hawaii), Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, China
This marks the 63rd ROK Navy cruise training since its first in 1954. It will provide expertise and on-board experience for midshipmen in their 4th year of the Naval Academy, as well as enhancing Republic of Korea’s friendship with the nations that they are visiting through military cooperation.
The ROKN Cruise Training Task Group will begin its 4-day visit to Sydney on the morning of the 3rd, followed by various exchange activities such as courtesy visits to distinguished guests, an appreciation ceremony for Korean War veterans, on-board reception, a public ship tour, cultural performances, and cultural tour in order to strengthen friendship and enhance relations.
The ROK Navy Cruise Training Task Group will end its schedule in Australia on the 6th and set sail for its next port call in Papua New Guinea.
